CHAPTER 1: PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: CONCEPTS, APPROACHES AND CONTEXT
SCOPE OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
Public administration plays a critical function in the modern era. There are numerous debates over the scope of public administration; some scholars say that in the Neo-liberal period, public administration's reach is very limited, while private administration's relevance grows. According to some, the phrase "public administration" is crucial during the neo-liberal era since the neo-liberal state has encountered numerous concerns such as environmental and technological issues. Public administration encompasses a variety of functions:
1. Public Administration and People: Because public administration is an organizational endeavour, it requires a strong relationship with its constituents. Each administrative system has a healthy relationship between its citizens and administrative agencies. It had an effect on the common people's daily lives.
2. Public Administration and Democracy: The scope of public administration is interconnected in numerous ways under a democratic political system. It has a strong connection to the people and serves as the political system's watchdog. The modern democratic state prioritized welfare, and a good administration is critical in a welfare democracy.
